Dermabrasion and Subcision

Controlled surgical removal of the top layers of skin results in a new layer of skin forming from beneath is called dermabrasion. This procedure is helpful to make the skin smoother in people with scars due to pimples, accident, or surgery.

Both dermabrasion and dermaplaning can be performed on small areas of skin or on the entire face. They can be used alone, or along with other procedures such as facelift, scar removal or revision, or chemical peel. Subscision involves releasing the deep scars from the underlying tissues so that the scar does not look as depressed.

It is essential that skin is pretreated with certain creams before surgery to ensure even pigmentation and prevent hyper pigmentation during healing period.
