Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels restores wrinkled, blemished, unevenly pigmented or sun damaged facial skin using a chemical solution to peel away skin's top layers. It works best on fair, thin skin with superficial wrinkles.

20-30% TCA peels done under anesthesia gives a well controlled peeling and works well in most skin types. After the procedure, the top layers of the skin peel off and a new skin layer takes its place. Complete recovery takes a couple of weeks. Temporary throbbing, feeling of tightness, tingling, swelling, redness, acute sensitivity to sun can occur after the procedure.

Peels improve skin texture and can remove pigments in top layer of skin. Pretreatment with certain creams is required for few weeks before a peel is undertaken to ensure a good result. Skin protection is important during the recovery period.
