Brow Lift/ Forehead RejuvenationWe perform Brow and Forehead Lifts to raise eyebrows and reduce ridges and furrows on the forehead, thus creating a smoother, more youthful appearance. This procedure can be performed in conjunction with other surgeries. Newer techniques now allow us to perform Forehead Lifting through small incisions in the scalp by using an Endoscope and specialized instruments. This accelerates the healing process. Many times we do not even have to make new incisions in the forehead area as it can be done through an eyelid incision using an absorbable endotine. The surgery is done under local anesthesia with sedatives or general anesthesia. Through two small incisions within the hair line endoscope and instruments are inserted and the periosteum is stripped. The forehead muscle insertions are separated and the brow suspended using sutures. Two sutures or staples are used to close incision. When using an absorbable endotine we use the eyelid incision and suspend the brow tissues onto the Endotine leaving no scars on the forehead. This technique is favoured in people who have broad foreheads. A temporal lift may be used in cases of outer brow drooping when performed in conjunction with a face lift surgery. Antibiotics may be prescribed for few days following surgery. Sutures are generally removed within one week. Swelling and some bruising may occur; they should subside within a few weeks. Our doctors will prescribe ice compresses and eye exercises to reduce swelling and regain mobility. Women will be allowed to use eye cosmetics two weeks after surgery. You can proceed with your normal daily activities within 1-2 weeks.
